Here’s some stuff I’ve been involved with lately!

June Gluum - 2020

Since a young age, I have always been drawn to music. Last year, I was very excited to release my very first collection of songs under a project called “June Gluum,” of which I am the sole member & creator.

My inaugural release was a collection of 4 songs that are meant to narrate some of the most confusing and emotionally frustrating seasons of life that I’ve had to deal with (namely in the realm of heartbreak).

The project was a life changing experience to be a part of. Not only was its inception on the doorstep of the Covid-19 lockdown (making it a highly constructive use of that time), but it was also a deeply cathartic and healing experience to process some of these traumatic & painful memories by translating them into music.

I hope you’ll listen and let me know what you think! You can also follow me @junegluum on Instagram.

Management Information Systems - Lab Assignments

In my Management Information Systems class at Biola, and in my Computer Science & Information Systems course at Grossmont College, I received what I would call an excellent primer & reminder of the abilities of the Microsoft Office Suite. Tasks in our lab assignments were as simple as creating an Excel spreadsheet to help calculate and differentiate sales revenues for a small tutoring business, and went as far as creating advanced algorithms in Access to be able to easily navigate a contact list using search queries and other critical functions. Above all, I was reminded about all of the ways that Microsoft Office can help us track the progress, evaluate the efficiency, and manage the expectations of our businesses.

Some things that I wish I could’ve done differently throughout these courses is paid more attention to some of the lesser-used functions. I’m always impressed to learn about the capabilities of these softwares, but only so much is covered in these courses. I can’t wait to find more as I grow in my career!
